Sensational rock and metal artists Papa Roach and Nothing More are bringing their signature sounds to the State Theater!
Nothing More was formed in San Antonio (Texas) in 2003 by Jonny Hawkins, Daniel Oliver, Mark Vollelunga, and Paul O'Brien. They were friends from school and they spent years honing their sound and skills. Daniel convinced the band to start touring early and they developed a strict do-it-yourself ethic that led to several independent releases. Their musical style is best described as a blend of progressive rock (a broad subgenre of rock music that grew out of psychedelic bands who abandoned standard traditions in favor of instrumentation and compositional techniques more frequently associated with jazz, folk or classical music), alternative metal (a genre that infuses heavy metal with influences from alternative rock and other genres not normally associated with metal), and progressive metal (a fusion of heavy metal and progressive rock that combines the loud aggression and amplified guitar driven sound of the former with the more experimental, cerebral or pseudo classical compositions of the latter). The band's been through many line up changes over the years and it currently consists of Jonny (lead vocals and additional drums), Mark (guitar and backing vocals), Daniel (bass and backing vocals), and Ben Anderson (drums). They’ve had a stellar career with 5 studio albums, 1 compilation album, 1 extended play, 7 singles, and 6 music videos.
