Lucius, New York's sensational indie artists are bringing their signature sounds to the State Theater!
The band was formed in Brooklyn in 2005 and it consists of Jess Wolfe (lead vocals and bass synth), Holly Laessig (lead vocals and keyboard), Dan Molad (drums and vocals), and Peter Lalish (guitar and vocals). Their musical style is best described as a blend of indie rock (a genre of alternative rock that originated in the United States and the United Kingdom in the 1980s, encapsulating the genres chamber pop, indie pop, lo fi, math rock, neo psychedelia, post punk revival, sadcore, and shoegaze), Americana (contemporary music that incorporates elements of various American roots music styles, including country, blues, roots rock, R&B, folk, and bluegrass, resulting in a distinctive roots oriented sound), and indie pop (a subgenre of alternative/indie rock originating in the United Kingdom in the late 1970s and differing from indie rock to the extent that it’s more melodic, less abrasive, and relatively angst free). They’ve had a stellar career with 3 studio albums, 2 extended plays, 8 singles, and they've collaborated/performed with many renowned artists such as San Fermin, Tweedy, The Rentals, Chadwick Stokes, City and Colour, Jack White, Dawes, John Legend, Tegan and Sara, Roger Waters, and Ingrid Michaelson.
